DC Beauty

I was contacted by the beautiful Heidi E. for a shoot in DC. The shoot was to be shot at the Botanical Gardens in DC. I had never been there before and I was a bit nervous that they wouldn't let us shoot there. The only restriction they had was that the images were for, "personal" use and I couldn't bring any lights in. I was fine with that because there was abundance of light available and plus it was cloudy so it was perfect. The Gardens was very humid which I was not prepared for and I started to sweat, I had to actually strip down to just a t-shirt (removing my long sleeve shirt and jacket). There were quite a few people inside and they watched us shoot. There was a little boy who kept trying to get in the pictures with Heidi, which was cute.

Cinemagraph: 1st Attempt

For the past couple of months I have been very intrigued with Cinemagraph. A Cinemagraphs are still photographs in which a minor and repeated movement occurs. They are published in either animated GIF format or as video, and can give the illusion that the viewer is watching a video.

I did this cinemagraph with Deshae (Shae Speaks TV) after filming one of his sketches. I like how the video turned out for a first try. I need now think of more challenging cinemagraphs to create.

Comments are welcomed.

5 Things I won't do

I think people to need to realize the different between a "artist" and a "photographer". I am a artist and my camera is my paintbrush.

Imperial II

My good friend Nora Torok (@heynorikat) came to Washington D.C. this weekend to attend Magfest and to shoot with me. I had my hairstylist Jasmine (@jusjazzzz_) do her hair. Nora took care of her makeup. Nora is actually a cosplay model and doesn't do much modeling outside of that area. I challenge her with the concepts I give her and make her step out of the costume wearing style she is use to.

Here are a few photos from our shoot -->

Also, as I have said in my last blog post I am now doing some of my edits online on Twitch.tv and Hitbox.tv if you have a account and want to know when I am on editing or playing games and just want to hang out with me just follow me or subscribe to my channel. Lastly here is a speed redit video from the shoot with Nora.

As always thanks for reading and comments are welcomed.

Update 2/9

Many things are going on right now that are pretty big. I am a three time author now. I was offered my own tv show and now I am a twitch.tv & hitbox.tv streamer. I am still taking my time creeping into 2016 after 2015 rough ending.

I have decided to take better care of myself to start and I am loving it. I am hitting the gym on a good schedule that is flexible for me and forcing myself to get outside more. (I have ever been the outdoor type.)

As for my photography, I feel like I am slowly waiting for the warmer months to really start taking advantage of what I want to do this year. The cold weather slows things down a lot of things for me. I am a on location photographer or lifestyle photographer. I avoid studios as if its a disease. I always prefer the natural and chaotic surroundings of a home or a abandoned house instead.

Streaming, has been something new and challenging for me. I have always been a video gamer by heart, but I have started doing streams that actually showcase my workflow when I am editing photos from a photoshoot.

The challenge comes from the insecurities that I have with letting people see how I edit images. My workflow I think might be chaotic to some, but I totally understand it.

So, I am doing these streams to hopefully inspire, provide insight and answer questions about my work. I answer questions on streams when asked and in the future I am considering doing contest and other fun things for my followers.

This weekend I have been summoned to Katsucon.

WTF Venom??

I have several models request my presence at Katsucon & Magfest for this weekend and next weekend so I will be making the venture to the Washington Inner Harbor. I'm not a cosplay photographer, but I might just grab some random shots of people with their permission. My shoots with these models will vary, but will be more conceptual and fashion styles.

As for shoots, well here have a look at some recent work I have done....
